Starving For Art Concert – Photos

Starving for Art - Sept 2014 002Starving for Art recently staged a superb evening of music in Holy Trinity Church.

It was the third fundraiser at the church to be arranged by this East Midlands-based group of musicians and singers, featuring artists from jazz, folk and classical genres.

Although the attendance was slightly down on the previous concert, there was an increase in Milford & Makeney residents present – and over £500 was raised for the church.

Starving for Art - Sept 2014 022Webmaster Ashley Franklin attended the concert and said: ‘I was completely bowled over by the professionalism of the performers.  Whether they were singing folk, classical jazz or gospel, the quality was exceptional.’

Already, Starving for Art is looking ahead, as Gary Johnston of the group explains: ‘Next year I would like to stage another concert but also create the Milford & Makeney Players for anyone who wants to have a go at treading the boards or, of course, have already trod the boards! Maybe we could have fun putting on a play or pantomime in 2015 for the local community. I know I can rally support from experienced actor friends of mine to help. What do you think?
